| PLUMBER / MECHANIC
|
Abbeville County School District is accepting applications for a lead plumber/ mechanic position on the school district maintenance staff. Candidates must possess proficient ability to perform skilled duties involving installation, maintenance and repair of all types of commercial building plumbing systems in a school environment. The successful candidate must possess the ability to troubleshoot systems, read building construction plans, perform preventative maintenance, maintain records, purchase and maintain materials and parts necessary to the plumbing trade. Possess considerable knowledge of the techniques, methods and work practices of the construction industry and be willing to perform any duties that may be required. A South Carolina class C Water Treatment Licenses is a desirable plus. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in a related trade area or general building maintenance. Possess a valid SC driver’s license. Ability to work well with others is essential. Must be physically able to climb and work off ladders, work in attics and crawl spaces and do moderate to heavy lifting and pulling, as necessary. |
| Bus Drivers | Abbeville County School District has positions available for bus drivers in the Abbeville and Due West/Donalds areas. Bus driver candidates must attend 20 hours of classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel driving time and assessment to obtain in a process to obtain their CDL license and their State Department of Education bus driver certification. Applicants must be able to perform physical tasks as it relates to pre-trip/post-trip bus inspections, assisting students during bus evacuations, and maintaining the cleanliness of the bus.
