program consists of tool identification and usage, engine theory and operation,
metal work and fabrications, welding and machine tools. Additional areas include
basic woodworking, electrical wiring, and small engine technology. Learning
activities consist of classroom instruction that is hands-on in a shop environment.
A work place atmosphere is emphasized, stressing safety and responsibility,
proper use of tools, troubleshooting, and developing a systematic approach to
problem solving. Upon completion of this program, a student will have the skills
necessary for entry-level positions in several areas of employment and/or further
study in a college or technical school.
